Nineteen Eighty-Four
Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. ― George Orwell, 1984
Do you feel free?
You’re going to say “Yes” because when you think about slavery, you always imagine a man with chains like in the movie Twelve Years a Slave.
We feel free because they tell us
Tell and be are different words.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows. ― George Orwell, 1984
Slavery still exists in modern society but we are the slaves and we no longer have chains.
Money rules the world.
If you want to eat, you need money. I didn’t know that Earth needs dollars for grow wheat fields but as you know, nature can be capricious.
We don’t even eat real food. Most of our lands are contaminate by chemicals which are found directly on our plates, through supermarkets and they super healthy industrial food.
Everyone knows that. It’s not a secret.
You know, it’s like McDonald’s, you know it’s not good for your body but you still eat shit.
We don’t care. And if everyone does it, let’s do the same.
No choice
“You must work to live”
No.
You must work because if you don’t, dollars and euros will tell you that you’re dead in our modern society.
Like I said: Money rules the world.
At who do you think you serve by working at H&M, Starbucks (or any big companies)?
Nobody — worse. You feed the system.
Why do you think money is for? And things you can buy with? People wouldn’t work if they didn’t have a reward, a little biscuit after being a good slave.
It’s just in front of us but we don’t want to see it.
