I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve written anything, even though it’s been 2 days since I lasted posted my first story. Anyways, lots of stuff happened today, so let’s get to it.
I did a lot of stuff with functions today. Particularly declaring and creating my own functions, using lots of new functions like match and case. A lot of baby steps at the moment, but I’m definitely having a decent time with Python for now. A particular breakthrough was my discovery of the in operator with arrays. My monkey brain didn’t ever think about an operator as simple as “in” for sorting through an array, and thought that it just HAD to be harder than that, right? WRONG! Once again, Python establishes its rightful position of being a properly based programming language. It’s so ridiculously simple to us, and can do basically everything. Though it does turn it into something of a “Jack of all trades, master of none” type language. Honestly, I don’t care much about that sort of stuff, Python is just too easy for me to leave for something as tiny as that.
Besides that, I’ve also started doing some Unity practice and am developing a clone of Celeste (I haven’t played it but it’s a pretty cool platformer, according to the internet.) I’ll definitely keep you guys posted on that, but in the meantime, I’ve just been learning about version control and components. I must say though, Unity is VERY easy to run. Like, wow, it isn’t blowing up my PC (looking at you, UE5)? Anyways, there isn’t much else to talk about, so let’s end this chat for now.
I’m super excited for what’s to come with all this game development and Python practice I’m up to. I’ve always wanted to be a game dev, and I definitely think that this is a step in the right direction for me. Friendly shoutout to my friend at school who told me to try out Unity. He wanted to collab and create games together, which at this rate, is definitely going to happen in no time.
Anyways, It’s late, and I need to go take a shower. Goodnight Medium.
