This image is not something created out of fantasy, the Olympic torch has a long history of astonishing journeys to the host country every year.

The Olympic torch is lit in Olympia, Greece just like the ancient times, and then it is relayed to the Olympic Games stadium. By the time it arrives in the stadium, it will have traveled thousands of miles, passed through the hands of thousands of people around the globe. It might have traveled though planes, trains, bicycles, boats, cars, and even dog sledges.

History of Olympic Games and The Torch

Fire has been considered pious and sacred in many civilizations. Fire inspired many ancient rituals, traditions and mythologies. In Greek mythology, the God Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and gave it to humans.
