MY SWEET PAIN

The arc of her love buoyed me with joy,

The golden girl, she’s sweet as honey,

She was the mirror I reflected therein,

The silver sweat under my skin.

She was the blue sky that made the heavens smile,

The pain and torture I’d bear for another mile,

She was joy, she was laughter;

She was the venom I swallowed after.

She made me sweat, made me gnash, she made me cry,

An abomination, a distaste; she spited me,

The thorn amongst the roses that made me bleed; aye!

The sword that pierces my soul, that bleeds me dry.

Her smile paralyzes me with happiness,

My companion, a road through loneliness.

The cloud of sorrows; its rains washes my tears,

She’s been my captain, my ship she steers.

She was sorrow, she was pain,

She’s my trophy, my price, my gain,

Although too many ties for her I’ve bled,

She is my glory, the crown of stars on my head!!!
