Introducing Kuza Finance: The gateway between meme culture and liquidity management on Avalanche
In late December 2023, Avalanche announced through their Twitter account, the use of their “Culture Catalyst” program, to promote, support, and stimulate meme coins on the Avalanche network 🔺, through communicative and economic means, to boost this very high-potential niche, which will ultimately pour its success onto the Avalanche ecosystem as a whole.
As meme coins have grown and taken on an increasingly important share in the Web3 industry, especially on Avalanche and in crypto’s overall collective consciousness, it opened a unique opportunity window for Kuza to fit in.
Kuza Finance: Leveraging Treasury management mechanisms to support cultural meme coins
Kuza Finance embraces a similar foundational approach to Olympus and Wonderland, particularly in the use of a bonding system and treasury management.
However, Kuza Finance diverges in the strategic use of the treasury. Our focus is on providing liquidity, helping the growth and sustainability of the most promising meme coins within the Avalanche ecosystem. We have chosen $COQ and $KIMBO as the first supported meme coins, as they are the most established based on several KPIs (Volume, Market Cap, and some non-quantitative metrics like perceived mindshare). In the future, other meme coins could be integrated, but their integration will have to be approved by decentralized governance voting.
This approach not only creates flexibility in our treasury management strategies but also exploits the high growth potential of Avalanche meme coins while providing net positive value to the “meme culture” of the Avalanche ecosystem.
Below is a concise summary of our core strategies:
- Liquidity Pool (LP) Contributions: Kuza’s Treasury aims to own a significant weight in available Liquidity on DEXs for targeted meme coins.
- Buyback & Burn: Kuza’s Treasury plans to use portions of funds towards buybacks and burn actions for said meme coins, to remove supply from the market, reducing the supply and mechanically leading towards higher prices.
- Grant initiatives via DAO Voting: Kuza’s community of token holders can vote for the spending of cash in the Treasury towards Grant initiatives given to any approved recipient to support projects and ideas.
Kuza’s reserve token: $QE
$QE is the Protocol Token, acting both as a reward token for stakers and as a liquid representation of the Protocol Treasury. Detailed information on tokenomics can be found in our Gitbook documentation (coming soon).
$REPO is the governance token of Kuza protocol. $REPO will be obtained by wrapping $QE and vice versa. Holding $REPO allows you to automatically capture all rebases and to vote through the governance system. However, $REPO is not liquid.
To achieve our goals, capture liquidity, and support the Avalanche memecoin ecosystem, we tailored existing game theory mechanisms introduced by Olympus:
- Kuza Bond System: Kuza leverages $QE token bonds to generate treasury deposits, further increasing our operating flexibility and overall positive impact on targeted meme coins (more liquidity — owned by the protocol — generating revenue).
- Incentivizing Long-term Commitment: Kuza is intrinsically an upward directional bet on the Avalanche ecosystem and its meme coins. The purpose of Kuza is to accumulate as much weight as possible in selected meme coins’ liquidity to reinforce their growth and popularity.
Each of these mechanisms plays a critical role in backing the Avalanche meme coin culture. By employing these strategies, Kuza Finance aims to cultivate a more robust, stable, and thriving environment for meme coins within the Avalanche network, encouraging long-term growth over short-term speculation.
