Traveling Alone

There are many blog posts documenting the benefits of traveling alone. It’s become a bucket list item for many, especially millennials. It takes courage to pull off because you’re dealing with many uncomfortable situations simultaneously. You’re in a new environment and you’re alone. It’s a great way to see a raw reflection of yourself.

Traveling alone is something I really enjoy but I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if I didn’t spend a year building self-confidence. Traveling alone has become my outlet for making new friends. You bump into random people, you hear so many crazy stories and learn a lot of good jokes along the way. People say the real world is more difficult in terms of building relationships. It’s strange that I find it ten times easier.

I guess it helps that I’m an optimist. I’m not afraid of being the first to let my guard down when meeting someone new.
