Mind is the main reason to have allergies of all kinds.
Allergy is always considered an allergy to food. The reason is that is what one considers and views physically. Also, that is the one that comes to mind. The mind, that sees the allergy, is not analyzing itself and the problem remains in the Mind itself primarily.

Why is that allergy?
The basic of allergy is very much related and attached to the affinity or interest towards that subject. A subject that does not create any interest in a person is not going the disturb that person.
Think of a person who is averse to the crowd. Suffocation, breathing, the smell, the dress, and the subject for which the crowd exists there like religion, culture, etc. All happen only when the person has an interest in and views the crowd. If the crowd does not attract the person there is no interest in any of these subjects and not even thinking of it or the aversions.
The basis of allergy is what one likes the most would be the same one would hate. Why?
Love-Hate relationships
Take the well-known love-hate relationships. See what happens in one-sided love relationships and in their failures. When love goes to one extreme, its failure tilts and goes to the other extreme. More or less to the same weightage as the opposite side. How a balance would tilt when the weight of one side is removed with another side empty. More or less to the same level down.
Just see how the individuals, who are crazy in love and one-sided, go to act when they fail. They are supposed to leave free the ones if the love is real love. But human nature is taking the other side. Not by all but by many. It all depends on the nature of the person. Many go crazy and to extreme acts. Injuring loved ones, damaging them in society, torturing them, disfiguring them, spoiling their carrier, disturbing their family all along life, and even killing them. Few commit suicide. In many cases, love happens after an aversion.
A craving mind is the opposite of an averse mind, but equal in strength. Just an imbalance reveals the other side, equally.
