At the end of 2018, Sennheiser has released a well-desired product, Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless. The earbud focuses on sound quality with no compromise. I bought a pair in February 2019 and used it for a half year now.

I would share my experience with this earbud and hope you can have a better idea and get the right choice.

The best Sound quality of true wireless earpbud

It is the main reason to pick this from other true wireless earbuds. If you want to get the best earbud for this, just pick this.

After a half year usage, I appreciate how the Momentum sound. It is amazing from the bass and high pitch. No matter you are listening to the rock band to a big band, the earpiece still handles a great balance. The female voice might slightly step back but still perform well.

COMPARE TO B&O E8

Before choosing the Momentum, I have also tried out the B&O E8, which provides above-average performance for music. Although E8 performs the female vocal clean and sweet, some broken sound will appear when listening to rock music. They make me go away from that.

Also, the sound quality is limited as it only supports Bluetooth AAC but no aptX ™. The data size of the transfer is limited. At this point, the sound quality of Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless should be better in the Android device. (In my opinion, the quality of Momentum also out beat the E8 in iPhone.)

Control is fine, only need a week to get used to it

There is a learning curve to get used to the control of the momentum, but it would not be a problem. After a week, the general usage of the control volume, play, pause, next are fine. The only complain is the Siri function is too easy to trigger by tap the right earbud, it always triggers when I take off it.

Phone calling with microphone is useless

The answer to this question is simple: It’s useless. The person on the other side of the phone call will only hear the noise from the background. It’s the common result for every earbud, the microphone is far from your mouth, it is not easy to capture your voice, so DON’T gives any hope on that.

The earbud is comfortable

The size of the momentum is larger than other products in the same category, but it still fits my ear perfectly. In the first week, I felt awful after wearing 1 hour. But now, I think I can keep wearing it with no problem.

Battery life can last for 2-day usage

In my use case, I listen to music or podcast when traveling between office and home, and also listen to some mic in office. Around 3 to 4 hours per day. After a full charge for the case and the earpiece, it can last for 2 days with no worry.

The connection is stable

The connection is great, no breaking when I listen to music at home or office. Even when I listening to music on a train full of people, the connection is still stable. Only in a few spots, the left earbud might be disconnected for 1 second when I walk through a place with strong cellular signals, for example, some signal stations.

There are only 2 main problems

Besides the phone call problem, the metal connection for charing between the earbud and the case some time not work, this will only charge one of them. If you are lucky, you will about to listen to the right one(the master one), otherwise, you would need to wait the earbuds charge again.

On the other hand, because of the shape and smooth plastic of the earbud, when taking out the earbud from the case, it might slip away from the hands. It will be awkward if it happens on a bus. It might not be a big problem, but you have to be careful.

The overall comment for the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless is recommended. With the earbud, you can enjoy music and podcast with good sound quality. Although this might not hit the expensive hi-fi quality, this should be one of the best headphones with wireless connection in the market now.

I hope this article can help you. If there is any comment or question, please feel free to ask.
