Usability Test
PicsArt is one of the world’s most installed and free photo editing and drawing apps and a unique social network of creatives. It is a network of highly talented, creative people from all over the world. It includes professional photographers, designers and artists, but mostly hobbyists and people who just love photo editing. They have a weekly contests contain thousands of original, high-quality images in photo editing, digital painting and graphic design. Each contest is a chance to be discovered by peers and featured by PicsArt. I always use this for editing my picture ☺
OBJECTIVE
Identify pain points as well as strong features of the app and come up with design suggestions to improve the application

What: Picsart app.
Who: One user who loves to edit pictures (not necessarily using PicsArt).
Where: Sta. Cruz Calabanga
Test Tasks
- Take a photo
- Apply a color filter to it.
3. Adjust the ENHANCE of the photo.
4. Add text
5. Put a Shape Mask
6. Crop the photo
7. Put a Shapes
8. Fill the shapes with color
9. Add the photo into the photo library.
10. Share a photo to a social network.
Analysis
Task 1: Take a photo

This was the easiest task for her! ☺
Task 2: Apply a color filter to it.

She also easily get the color filter/effects because each icon was namely. But when they want to go back at the editing area she was confuse what to click because she thought that the “check” means it is to save to camera roll and the “x” means it is already cancelled or quit.

To complete this task you must click the “check” and it will return to the editing area. When she still don’t know what to do she click the APPLY button but it didn't return to the editing area.
Task 3: Adjust the ENHANCE of the photo.

On this task she were easily get mad because she didn't see the ENHANCE button because it was inside the TOOL. They keep on clicking the DRAW button where she get too much confusion because she don't know where to return.
Task 4: Add text

This was the fastest task that she do but still tshe were confuse where to click to return in the editing menu/area.
Task 5: Put a Shape Mask

It was an easy task for her but at first she tapped the mask where it didn't show the shape mask but the shape mask was at the end of the menu.

Task 6 , 7 and 8: Put a shapes, Crop the photo and fill the color

She were confuse because she thought that the DRAW button was for the crop but it appeared the SHAPES. The CROP was hidden in the TOOL.

Task 9 and 10: Add the photo into the photo library and Share a photo to a social network.

It was easy task for herand there’s no problem encounter here ☺
Findings
Issue 1: There so many task flow in putting a filter or shapes in the photo.
User expects that once you click the effects you want it will be no more another task to do.
Design Suggestions:


Issue 2: There were too many buttons that some of the buttons were hidden.
User expects to see all the buttons in screen and no more task to do.
Design Suggestions:

With this all the edit buttons were showed all in screens.
