WHAT IF…

WHAT IF another Ferguson or Baltimore occurred and there was a streaming network able to live stream the events as it happened?

WHAT IF Black Lives Matter protests were reported by diverse correspondents giving unbiased coverage?

WHAT IF you were able to watch a streaming network that not only entertained, but also provided practical everyday tips to living a better life — from healthy eating clips to financial/wealth web shows by experts with similar backgrounds?

WHAT IF you could turn on your streaming subscription service and do a 20-minute workout before heading to work?

WHAT IF you were able to watch live news and talk shows dedicated to stories facing blacks around the world from wherever you are, whether it’s a mobile device, computer or Internet TV streaming device such as Roku?

WHAT IF you were able to video chat with show hosts and guests in real time (asking questions and giving input)?

WHAT IF your streaming network produced unscripted, original content that took an educational, documentary style approach to telling life stories instead of exploiting family conflict and promoting violent behavior?

WHAT IF your streaming network produced scripted shows with clever story lines and multi-dimensional leading characters that do not perpetuate false stereotypes?

WHAT IF you could regularly watch black historical content that digs deeper than slavery and Jim Crow, from exploring the lives of the great African rulers to highlighting black people around the world currently making history?

WHAT IF you had a streaming network that mimicked your regular TV viewing routine by streaming live content 24 hours a day (from news to documentaries and shows) while also having on-demand content all in one place?

WHAT IF your streaming network had correspondents of African descent reporting the stories of people, places and issues from around the world?

WHAT IF you could watch a show that looked into the lives of the most noteworthy black people in the US and abroad?

WHAT IF — with the simple click of your mouse — you could get involved and take action on an issue discussed during a news segment or documentary?

WHAT IF you never had to remember to DVR your favorite news show again because you’re not home? Instead, what if all of your favorite original shows and news programming that aired live were automatically placed in your “favorites” so you can watch later?

WHAT IF you could binge watch one of your favorite classic black movies of all time each month and share the experience with other streamers via chat?

WHAT IF you had a choice of inspiring and educational children’s programming that included characters who look similar to your kids and focused on topics your children face?

WHAT IF we didn’t have to rely on mainstream media to tell our stories?

WHAT IF I told you that there is a new streaming network that’s working to offer all of this and more? It’s called kweliTV.

Now, what if we used our $1.1 trillion buying power to support kweliTV, which was created with the global black consumer in mind…

We created kweliTV with a vision to not only revolutionize the way black people are portrayed in the media but how we — as a community — view television. The future of television will not be us “DVRing” our favorite shows that we miss or rushing home to watch the latest episode of a program on our television sets. No, the future of television means access. We want to be an on-demand and live-streaming platform that is as mobile as you are, allowing you to watch your kweliTV content from any location on any device that has Wi-Fi.

We created kweliTV because we wanted to provide a space were black people from around the globe could connect and learn about our different cultures — what we have in common and how we differ.

We created kweliTV to be a platform that empowers filmmakers — who create awesome content focused on the issues and stories of the black experience — by paying them for their work.

We created kweliTV to be a catalyst for change: A space where big ideas are shared and implemented; a place that is a mixture of entertainment and education.

We created kweliTV to take control of our media and give our thought-leaders, journalists, filmmakers, life coaches, activists, teachers, historians, designers, etc., a space to have a voice.

We’re two weeks into our crowdfunding campaign and a long way from our $50,000 goal. What if collectively everyone contributed just $15 between now and the end of the week? We would surpass our 50K goal and you would get 6 months of kweliTV free! Everyone wins! Will you join us?

Support kweliTV’s crowdfunding campaign. Collectively, your $15 will go a long way! kweliTV: A Streaming Network for Black Voices
