KWHCoin establishes “CryptoRoad” and aims to develop Blockchain and sustainable technology ecosystem in North Carolina

The tobacco industry has traditionally been one of the most important industries in North Carolina and a backbone of the state’s agricultural heritage. It earned the nickname “tobacco road” and the state is now transitioning to a manufacturing and, increasingly, service-based economy.

KWHCoin Founder and CEO Girard Newkirk is a native North Carolinian along with President and COO Monica Shepard and one of the energy startups goals is to develop the blockchain and sustainable technology ecosystem and economy in the state hence the term “cryptoroad”. The company is headquartered in Wilmington, North Carolina and recently participated in in first Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Meetup this week.

KWHCoin President and COO Monica Shepard presented the KWHCoin platform and token models to the audience at the Ironclad Brewery.

“It was a thrill to be part of the Wilmington Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Meetup to present the KWHCoin project. We are excited about our mission and the more people that we can bring awareness to the growing need for energy independence the better. We want to accomplish a massive goal of connecting billions to safe, reliable, renewable energy resources so we are welcoming all to join and participate in our mission,” states KWHCoin COO Monica Shepard.

KWHCoin is also partnering with Cape Fear Community College Sustainable Technologies in a collaboration focused on advancing blockchain, decentralization applications and sustainable technologies. The goal of the collaboration is to work together to develop an effective partnership and focus on the economic impact of creating sustainable economies through technology, energy and water resources.

With over 23,000 students enrolling in classes every year, Cape Fear Community College is a major economic development partner in southeastern North Carolina.

KWHCoin will contribute the following to the Cape Fear Community College Sustainability Technologies program as part of the collaboration and partnership:

  1. Develop a model to offer Internship opportunities for CFCC students
  2. Attend functions and teach about the benefits of Blockchain Technology in the Renewable Energy sector.
  3. Collaborate with CFCC staff and students to offer continued knowledge on how to develop a sustainable economic ecosystem.
  4. Market the partnership on all social media platforms and media outlets.

“North Carolina has the second largest solar capacity in the country (second only to California) and so many natural resources that it makes for an incredible opportunity to become a center of innovation and sustainable technology development. We will be applying token models and decentralized solutions across so many levels that CFCC and KWHCoin are building a great ecosystem to advance North Carolina technologically and with economic development. And this is home. I was born and raised in Pender County and farming and agriculture were life growing up so it feels great to come back and develop even more opportunities for our people in the state with technology,” says KWHCoin CEO Girard Newkirk.

KWHCoin is currently being traded on TOPBTC, Coinexmarket and and continues to expand into a global renewable energy solutions platform that is servicing the 1.2 billon people globally without energy access along with underserved populations that lack reliable energy service.
