Hey Kevin,

Colette, I was smiling the whole time I was writing. So, yes, I was having just as much fun as you were.

Fortunately, my wife of over 32 years is accustomed to my humorous side showing. Then again the idiom, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy,” must have some iota of truth–at least in my experience.

Then again, my mother has a pillow that reads, “Sometimes in the morning I wake up grumpy; but most mornings I let him slept.”

So here’s the secret sauce to over 32 years of marital bliss — kinda the post-wedding vows. “Judith, your joy is my joy. Your peace is my peace. Your happiness is my happiness. Whatever you say, whatever you want, I want.” Then I ignore her.

BTW — in my family I eat the hard toffee. Colette, we might just be friends after all.
