Kevin, thanks for your reply. I agree that we should not accept claims that are not supported by evidence. Perhaps that is why I find your stance on the Strom piece so troubling. Where is the evidence that it was willingly written for OCA? Feels like a run through the rumor mill to me. You have quite a hyperbolic tone regarding article, but for me it came nowhere near a “hit-piece” — if it was one I don’t think there would be statements from Ben and Jerry or Monsanto. In fact, I can’t find any instance in which Strom outright forms an opinion on the findings. Ultimately, the article seemed to me to be directing the reader to something which may be worth further inquiry, so I am not quite sure I understand exactly what the problem is. Science asks us to challenge our assumptions, whether good or bad scientific practices have been carried out, we can always continue a line of inquiry, and it does not make sense to me why you, as a scientist, would discourage that with such polemic vehemence.
