Crime without Punishment: the Modern GOP

The Republican Party has gone totally off the rails. They’re running on a message of “law and order” while one after another their crimes are published. Here in Missouri it feels as though there’s more Republicans running who are criminals than not. Let’s look back on the crime spree of the GOP just from the last few years.

We can’t talk about the rampant criminality of the Missouri Republican Party without starting with Eric Greitens. Greitens won office with the same message as Trump: “I’m an outsider who will clean up the corruption!”

And just like Trump, we immediately learned that what Greitens really meant was he would lead the most corrupt and criminal administration in Missouri’s history. He stole from a veterans’ charity, illegally coordinated with a PAC, took untold millions in dark money, and somehow had a $750k house purchased for him by an LLC after getting way more than market value for his previous home.

Then of course there’s his affair with his hairstylist, whom he held down, sexually assaulted, and took explicit photos without her consent so he could then blackmail her. Abusing women, we’ve learned is not just not a deal breaker for Republican support, it seems to be a pre-requisite. More on that later.
