While the new logo is, in my view, inferior to the City’s previous one— whoever authored this letter should severely cut down on the use of the word ‘severely’. The letter is rife with hyperbolic excess in fact… while there’s a lot of examples of democracies being undermined in the world today — I don’t think this poorly communicated subpar logo change really qualifies.

Nonetheless, I too think the City should reconsider this logo change.
