I can explain part of it. Computers went to 64 bit sometime in the late Bush era with the Windows Vista crisis which did hurt a lot more then PRO Marketing sites would care to admit so people dumped computers for consoles which were getting more powerful as an alternate medium. People gave up because of too many things not working correctly or were not backwards compatible. New stuff were not made or made well as many independent software companies bucked under Vista that were hanging in there.
2. Smartphones happened to come out at the time which got people addicted to game apps and was an attempt to boost MSM (main stream media) spin stories as they were dying after people have had it during the Clinton era fake news in the 90s.
Sso they had to have some way to rope people in as computers were getting too useful up to Vista. Again the global elites saw more people having home computers and got scared they could get information themselves not relying on lying media. (including ones that claim to be independent but have ties to the big networks) Breitbart I’m looking at you!
