Yes, indeed. I run an ecommerce site as my day job and work hard to post compelling content that is either interesting, useful or funny. The amount of tweets I see from our competitors (and others in the industry) of just pumping out “BUY BUY BUY” is insane.

I think they’ve clamped down on spam a fair bit; it used to be that you couldn’t mention a brand name such as “iPhone” without being followed a hundred bots all throwing out “click here for your free iPhone!”.

I wonder perhaps if the feature they really need to look at is conversation threads. With the feed moving fast it’s hard to interact with a conversation that you come across halfway through, and can’t find the beginning of, or get lost in a myriad of replies and counter-arguments.
