I find this to be an effective use of media. The main I reason I see this article contributing something positive to society is its accuracy and honesty to the tones of the two parties being written about. Fox News, an outlet typically associated with the conservative side of American politics, portrayed a memo published by anonymous White House staffer with strong language and an intense spotlight. This may seem extreme when reading, but it is honest to the intent of the original author of the meme and consistent to how most Americans likely view such an expository memo. The article next moves to the White House response to the memo. The rhetoric from the White House is combative and the language in the article reflects the intensity.

If the current state of American politics involves such combatant character, there is no reason for the media to pretend as if the culture is any different. While the media have an important role to play in shaping contemporary culture, it would be deceitful to present a false tact in the described exchange.

I see this as an unhelpful example of media because it manipulates a few cases into an argument that is not actually supported. It implicitly suggests that people may be having their success stifled by staying in college. It lays out some very successful people who dropped out of college. Their stories are all true, but the article does not draw attention to the fact that they all dropped out because they had serious plans for pursuing their own business. The article listed nine billionaires. This is a lot and maybe more than people would expect, but the article does not prove that this is representative of all billionaires. Even if there was a meaningful correlation, the article jumps to suggest they were succesful because they dropped out, when in reality it seems more like the dropped out because they had an outside opportunity to be succesful.
