As an energetic child, I would ride my bike on the streets of Sunnyvale, Ca. Exploring the heart of Silicon Valley with its beautiful cherry and apricot orchards, high tech innovation, and small-town feel that fades with each new high rise building. I went to college in Santa Cruz, Ca. Just 45 minutes over the hill, close the beach, and a world away from home! At UCSC I studied Sociology knowing only that I wanted to “be a counselor”. It was on the beautiful campus that my love of hiking was born! Waking up to the sound of the redwood trees blowing in the wind is something I will never forget! Living close to the ocean was a spiritual experience for me. I grew to rely on the energy of the water and found nature to be my greatest church!

As a wild young adult, I met a beautiful surfer on West Cliff. He played the harmonica like my grandpa and was in the same kind of work as my dad. He was wearing a wetsuit and a smile when I first saw him. We married quickly and lived a roller-coaster marriage for 7 years. We were blessed with three beautiful healthy babies. I was truly privileged to be able to be a stay at home mom. Taking the babies to the beach and the park was everything to me! My children were 6, 4, and not yet 2 when I had to flee that marriage. I moved back to Sunnyvale with my 3 children and have been on a journey of healing and growth since!

As a single mom, I started working full time as a Mental Health Counselor in downtown San Jose. The work was challenging, scary, rewarding, and exhausting. After a year a half, I was burnt out and wanted to spend more time with my children. A co-worker shared an incredible book with me. “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron changed my life and opened my heart and mind to my creative nature. I began connecting to Source to tap into creative energy and well…EVERYTHING changed.

On unemployment, but tapping into Spirit, I was inspired to go into “marketing”. I found an internship at an application development company and quickly realized that Social Media Marketing was going to become a sought after job skill. I decided to start a small business offering Social Media Marketing Services and learned everything I could. This business allowed me to work from home part-time so I could be available to my children. After several years and many Social Media clients, I found myself wanting to serve a bigger purpose. So I started looking for non-profits that needed social media help. I became the Office Manager at Teen Success and got to manage their Facebook page and was successful in using the platform for fundraising. But, I began to miss providing direct services to people.

Seven years ago I married the amazing man that Source connected me to. (Ask me to share that story sometime!) Four years ago we left the Bay Area and moved to Southern Oregon. Grants Pass has three rivers flowing through it! For the last year and a half, I have been working at Women’s Crisis Support Team. Stationed at The Department of Human Services, I was an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I LOVE helping women take their power back. As an overcomer of DV myself I was able to support my clients with deep understanding and empathy. After work, I would walk in the river and wash away the stories of abuse. This work was healing at first but, something flipped after corona hit. It just became too heavy to hear the darkness every day.

I began looking for new opportunities and asking the Creator for direction and inspiration. When I saw the add for “Client Support and Content Production” I laughed knowing the job was PERFECT for me. I began thanking Source for the opportunity. I even gave notice at WCST before having an offer from Life at Altitude!

When I say this job is my dream job, I mean it! I have been working toward this perfect balance of roles. To be able to support people is when I am happiest. Please reach out if you need to talk. I am a great listener and will help you however I can. I also get to tap into my creative energy as a Social Media Specialist. If you have any ideas or want to learn how to share Inquiry Method with the world email me and let’s collaborate. I look forward to getting to know each of you and hope to contribute a ray of light on your journey to a Life at Altitude.

Today my children are 21, 18, and 15. I am so excited to be able to work remotely so I can continue to be available to them. It also gives me time to explore my creative passions; Aeroponics, Dance Worship, Buti Yoga, Nia, Prayer Journaling, and I love to paint with watercolors or doodle with colored pens! Perhaps, I will even have time to ride my bike!

Get in touch anytime! I look forward to it. My email is alicia@inquirymethod.com

Love and Light,

Alicia
