It’s naive to think that future owners of a model 3 could earn 30k a year by renting out their car. When the technology reaches a point that cars are approaching 100% autonomy, it’s not going to just be a free for all on an Uber-like platform for anyone to pimp out their car (literally)… Before you even start to incorporate costs like insurance, the market will eventually be so saturated that the cost / ride will drop to the point of hardly covering the depreciation.
