Excerpt from Anthony Bourdain’s Hong Kong episode
Christopher Doyle: You watch some of my movies, or you read a book, or we go out drinking with friends. And then, bang, bang. We’re doing some thing which all of those energies focus in a way that somehow connects with other people. Well, hello? What [else] do you want in life?
Bourdain: Is there a value to just beautiful people and objects moving through space in beautiful ways?
Guy: Is there value to the color of a pomegranate?
Bourdain: Yeah, yeah.
Christopher Doyle: Exactly! This is our challenge. To celebrate that. So-called beauty y’know oh’ my make-up is so good and I lifted my face a bit. No. Beauty is the darkness and the pleasure of embracing that and that giving something more of the experience of life.
