One Piece: Marineford’s Moments of Destruction!

Marine Headquarters or commonly known as Marineford is one of the World Government facilities in the world of One Piece. Apart from Marineford, we also know Enies Lobby and Impel Down which are part of the World Government’s facilities. Marineford is considered a symbol of justice and peace in the world.

With a world full of pirates and wars, it’s not uncommon for marine bases to become targets or become places for major and important events in the story to occur. And usually, when that moment occurs, Marineford will be devastated as proof of the enormity of the battle. Here are some moments of downfall from Marineford.

Shiki the Golden Lion’s attack

Shiki the Golden Lion is one of the legendary pirates in the One Piece story and is someone whose power level is on the same level as Gol D. Roger. Shiki was able to fight any strong pirate and win, except for a few pirates like Whitebeard and Roger.

Thanks to his devil fruit ability, the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi, he has the ability to make flying objects, and he can fly too. About 22 years ago, Shiki, who knew that Roger was captured by the navy and was about to be executed, did not accept this. Shiki wants Roger not to be executed but to die at his hands.

Finally, Shiki went to Marineford and then fought against Garp and Sengoku who were still young at that time. The combined strength of the two is able to reduce the tremendous power of Shiki. However, even so, it cannot be denied that Shiki managed to destroy most parts of Marineford. Shiki himself was later captured and imprisoned in Impel Down.

Summit War/Marineford Great War

The Summit War is one of the big wars in the world of One Piece which takes place at the Marine headquarters, aka Marineford. During this battle, Whitebeard’s pirate group tried to free Ace from execution. The entire fleet from Whitebeard’s group was deployed to battle.

All naval forces try to defend the naval base from Whitebeard’s attack. Even though he was saved by Luffy, unfortunately at the end of the story we see how Ace had to die from Sakazuki’s attack while protecting Luffy. Not only that, in this battle, Whitebeard also died.

Before his death, Whitebeard had used all of his Gura Gura no Mi abilities for the last time. And the effect of this was that part of Marineford was split, where Whitebeard’s crew was separated from the marines. Whitebeard also said that he would sink Marineford along with his body, before then Blackbeard and his group appeared.

After Blackbeard succeeded in stealing Gura Gura, he had time to try out the devil fruit which had terrible results. The ground they stood on became unbalanced and the Marineford building was split open. Blackbeard had boasted that he would destroy all of Marineford, before being stopped by Sengoku.

The battle at Marineford is not only one of the big battles in the One Piece story, with evidence of Marineford’s destruction, but it is also the battle that has featured the most Devil Fruit users so far in the One Piece series. Also this became one of the phenomenal moments because of the sad death of Ace.

Marineford is an important and significant place in the story of One Piece, because there are many important events that occur in Marineford. In addition, many important naval decisions are made at Marineford. Even though it was destroyed several times, Marineford is still strong until now.
