The thing about “right place at the right time”

Shit happens. Good shit. Bad shit. It all happens.

Sometimes you’re prepared for it. Most of the time you’re not.

When it comes to relationships, we’re never prepared or ready for whatever might come next. It might be a break up or a proposal or a job opportunity on the other side of the country.

If you’re in the right place at the right time with the person you’re in a relationship with, then maybe good shit happens. You grow. They grow. The relationship grows. You build something out of what was once nothing, or at the very least a curious glance across a crowded room.

But what about when one factor just doesn’t fit into the equation? You’re in the wrong place. They’re on the wrong timeline. You’re both in the wrong places, at the wrong time.

What do you do? Do you just say:

Okay, well. There’s that.

And walk your separate ways? 🚶💃. Never returning to that something that had made you ponder the“What if...?’s”

Do you put the relationship on a shelf and revisit it if and when things change?

Or do you sacrifice something? Do you change your place? Do you adjust the timeline so you can just give it a shot, fulfill the what if?

I don’t fucking know. That’s why I wrote this.
