Palm Bech Modern + Contemporary Art Fair
The New Year has begun and with it comes many great new art fairs to explore! Coming back for it’s second year is the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair presented by Art Miami. The fair kicks off Thursday, January 11 with a VIP preview and then officially opens on January 12th at 11am. Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary curates and offers quality works from the 20th and 21st centuries. The refined ambiance of the fair will be welcoming and appealing to all levels of visitors, from the seasoned collector looking to acquire new works to the budding art enthusiast looking to start a new meaningful collection.
Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair gives collectors, art connoisseurs and art world luminaries the opportunity to acquire Blue Chip, Modern and Contemporary, and Post War works from 64 top international galleries. Those participating will come from around the world and have previously been featured in numerous prominent international fairs including TEFAF in Maastricht and New York, The Armory Show, Masterpiece London, Art Miami Expo Chicago, and many others.
This year’s fair is packed with some amazing highlights. The fair has partnered with the historic Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, which will serve as a satellite venue and benefactor of the fair. It is commemorating the fair with a special exhibit, Celebrating Boaz Vaadia 1951–2017, which will feature monumental and small-scale sculptures, and continue to be on display through April 2017, courtesy of Sponder Gallery. A shuttle will be available between the fair and the Garden during show hours.
Another highlight is 55Bellechasse’s presentation of RAWK by rock ’n’ roll icon Jason Newsted, formerly of Metallica. This is the third artistic show created by the Grammy Award winning bassist and half of all sales will be donated to the Perry J. Cohen Foundation. Newsted with Amir Tal, a member of Newsted’s The Chophouse Band, will kick off Palm Beach Art Week by performing at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens on January 10th, 2018 between 6pm and 8pm during a ticketed cocktail reception supported by Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary. Jason Newsted and The Chophouse Band will then perform a special ticketed concert on January 12th at the Cultural Council in Lake Worth, sponsored by Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary. Rounding out the art and the music will be the presentation of the Professional Achievement in the Arts Award to Rena Blades, President and CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach Country. Rena has helped Palm Beach evolve into one of the country’s best destinations from cultural tourism and has helped transform it into a role model community for access to public art.
Sponsored by the City of West Balm Beach, the fair benefits many organizations including The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society, The Joe Namath Neurological Research Center and the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. It takes place in the intimate and modern setting of a 65,000-square-foot clear span pavilion located between City Place and the Hilton West Palm Beach. The fair’s refined ambiance will be welcoming and appealing to all levels of visitors, from the seasoned collector looking to acquire new works to the budding art enthusiast looking to start a new meaningful collection.
