They knew

They say that the new 2016 Macbook Pro is the surprising spit in the faces of all pro(fessional) users. They are saying it every day in blogs and other probable media around the world since that October 27. Twitter tirelessly distributes tweets on naysayers’ behalf. They go to Reddit and HackerNews to wage “The Opinion War”.

I hoped that would end in a week or so, but it did not.

Dear people of The Internet. Apple most certainly knew what they were getting into. Do you really think that they did not prototype? That they did not work with focus groups? That they did all this just on a hunch?

This is a story about you as a consumer mismanaging their risks. You actually did put all of your eggs in one basket. And now there is no way out of it without leaving your comfort zone.

After all the whining and passing that rejection stage you’ll go and buy the New One. With the TouchBar. And slowly but surely TouchBar will become another thingie which everybody uses. And any laptop without it will seem to be old when that rare moment will come and you’re TouchBar won’t be there.

You’ll hate that bar, but you’ll fall in love with TouchID. And that will lock you in even more.

Yes, I must agree, it’s an exciting opportunity to switch to Linux or Windows. You’ll be able to try out really weird desktop on Linux and lack of apps on both of them. Nowadays it’s really easy to take for a spin those two other OS’es without ever dropping your current hardware and OS.

If you’re a graphics person, there is only Windows option. If you’re a developer, you can live with both OS’es. Unless you develop for iOS or OS X.

So, please, stop whining. Apple won’t change anything within next few years. They most definitely knew what they were getting into. Nobody forgot about pro(fessional) users.

They knew and did it anyway.
