Clearly some commenters have never worked background. If you’re a principal, you’re referred to as your character name (i.e. Jane). If you’re background, you’ll be called by your category name. We shouldn’t be called a “whore”, or hear “bring in the whores”, or be pointed at and told “have that whore come over here”, or “have that whore stand there” all day long just because Tarantino has given the crew the license to call women “whores”. Actors are professionals and deserve to be treated like a professionals in a professional environment. “Whore” is a slur name, and shouldn’t be used like other slur names for other groups. Also, if you’re going to get my tax dollars (which I’m sure Tarantino is benefiting from), then you’d better treat the employees I’m helping pay for with dignity and respect.
