Searching Earth For Signs of Life: An Introduction to Bacterial Futurism

Bacterial Futurism is a social and political theory based on the idea that interpersonal and large-scale human movement can be observed through a basic understanding of microorganisms, as bacteria are the building block of life on earth and they represent single-cell organisms that carry immense power — only when multiplied.

Additionally; the socioeconomic rubric of how we determine what is realistic/not realistic in society is not based on a capitalist hegemony, or even by past ideologies or political movements in history; but by the logic of our immune systems and the world’s already existing microbial processes. Therefore, using a vision of the future within this context will create alternative versions of society that would have been impossible to imagine otherwise.
