Dreaming of Coachella

I’ve always wanted to attend Coachella just once in my lifetime. To spend my time in the sun with the beautiful California backdrop and great musical vibes all around would be a dream. The magic will be going down on April 15–22 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.

Just some of the favourites I’ve seen on the line up this year are Calvin Harris, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Chris Stapleton and Chvrches which I lucky enough to see perform last year at Pemberton Music Festival and they’re definitely a must see group!

What’s really cool is that in addition to hosting live music, Coachella is also a showcase for installation art and sculpture. Many of the pieces are interactive, providing a visual treat for attendees. Throughout the years, the art has grown in scale and outrageousness.

Paul Clemente, Coachella’s art director since 2009 said, “I think the level of detail and finish and artistry and scale and complexity and technology, everything is constantly getting notched up, ratcheted up. We’re obviously constantly trying to, for lack of a better word, to outdo ourselves and make it better for the fans. In Coachella’s early years, art was mostly recycled from the previous year’s Burning Man festival, due to smaller budgets.”

Now that is a music festival I want to experience! Being surrounded by creative and artistic juices would definitely be a great time. Hopefully in the next few years I’ll have the time and the money to fly down there to take in all the musical magic.

P.S. — You should totally read my last post to find out what exactly my essentials are when it comes to a music festival.

P.S.S. — I swear you’ll enjoy it.
