Sitting in meditation, aiming to be focused
Promising yourself to put burdens down
A thought comes suddenly, it doesn’t sway
The next related one comes, then another…

You hit a tipping point, the mind gets sucked in
Being pulled along by the train of thoughts
The head gets heavy and slides down
The shoulder starts slouching forward

At the next prompt in the session,
realizing you’re on a flight of fancy
The predictable reaction is irritation
A better approach is acceptance.

Distraction is natural,
it’s absolutely common
You’ll learn to manage this
As you advance…
