I took the classic closeted gay route of being mostly friends with girls and just pretending that I wasn’t gay. This adamant denial and the fact that Buzzfeed was my only view into LGBT culture meant that getting to a point where I could even begin to accept my sexuality took a lot longer than it should have. I don’t remember exactly when I realized I way gay, but I do remember that it was around the time I stopped thinking I was asexual for not liking girls.
