It wasn’t his fault. Well, it was, but it wasn’t intentional. His mom had taught him to turn off the light when he left a room. So he did. When he was done on his first day as an data entry intern in the converted electrical storage room by the parking garage, he switched off every outlet on the wall. No one knew what to do, but assumed someone else was already on it. Then dinner time rolled around. And Wednesday. And September. And 2018. Life went on. Some people missed the internet, but it wasn’t a lot.
