I’m somewhat comforted to see that others have experienced the same frustration as me, but in some ways I’m even more frustrated now, because Adobe still hasn’t changed its very deceptive policy. I had the same thing happen as Ashley Oglesby Baumann — I was with another stock image provider, with which I was happy until it was taken over by Adobe! Not only is there the outrageous cancellation fee and the loss of all my images, but when I selected the option of getting two months for free instead of cancelling (thinking I would then have less on the annual contract left and could cancel later for a slightly less outrageous amount), it counted it as starting the annual contract over again, which means that now my cancellation fee was actually higher than if I had cancelled it two months ago! Grrr.
