A manifesto for responsible politicians.

The current distrust of established institutions, and especially government, is a grave danger to American democracy. To restore trust in government, I call upon all politicians adopt the following manifesto:

I regard truth as a moral imperative, and I will not lie.

I will maintain a high level of honesty and integrity.

I will not make promises I cannot keep.

I will treat everyone, including other politicians, with respect.

I will not denigrate the character or personal lives of political adversaries.

I will discharge my duties to serve the greater good of my constituents.
