Photo Essay Reflection
Q: What did you struggle with today?
A: I struggled with a lot today. The heat was a really big bummer for me. I get so distracted whenever it gets hot outside, and I feel as if all my energy gets drained out of me. A big thing I struggled with though is my patience. I have never been too impatient about anything, but I feel like I still am not patient enough. When it comes to more intentional, focused arts like drawing or taking photos, I struggle keeping my hands from shaking and from taking the time to make the picture look great. What I wanted to portray was visible in the photo, whether its the lighting or what is focused. But I feel as if it just is not good enough since I just take the picture and go. I need to work on my patience big time.
Q: How did you make progress?
A: I made progress by slowing down and actually thinking about what I wanted to take a picture of. Instead of thinking “oh, I need to take a picture of this building or that tree,” it was easier to complete the task when I would think “oh, what could I take a picture of that represents this feeling for me?” It’s easier to really think about something that could represent what I am feeling instead of going out of my way to look for a certain object/place.
