Visit: El campo de cebada

This may look like a gloriously warm day but in reality it’s Madrid winter aka the schnipon season (according to my friend from Yorkshire, schnipon is when cold nipples come out to say hola). Schnipon or not, there’s nothing I like to do more than chill out — and by that I mean trying and failing to fit in with the locals — at el campo de cebada. Rap battles, basketball, DJs and dogs; I like to describe it as a gentle ghetto for beginners like me.

And if you get annoyed by the guys wandering around trying to sell you beer, just imagine being gluten intolerant.
