Looking back on my childhood, I’ve realized how ridiculously polarized our middle and high school education was between two groups: the Arts and Science. The distinction of these two groups was made more on merit, not on subject matter. The smart kids necessarily went to the Science section and the not-so-smart ones went to the Art Section, irrespective of passions and “what they wanted to do”. Period.
