Does Listening to Podcasts and Music Increase Productivity?

I’ve been a fan of podcasts for years.

They made my daily exercise routine and travel more bearable, and I was excited to realize I could find a podcast for almost anything I was into.

As a result, I listen to many true crime, pop culture/online culture, health, history, entertainment, and productivity podcasts. All offer something unique, and I have gotten to the point where I can pinpoint exactly what I’m looking for and find a podcast to fit that mood.

Lately, though, I’ve been really busy. A lot of the work is “busywork” (the kind you can do without really thinking about it), and as someone with ADHD, I get bored SUPER quickly with routine tasks.

Enter podcasts.

A way to be distracted without being distracted

This past week, I had a lot of mindless work to do, like sending out invoices and inputting information into a database, so I wanted a way to get into a zone without getting distracted.

Podcasts are excellent for this.

Some might watch TV (or have it on “in the background”) while they work, but unless I have seen the show before, I get distracted trying…
