Craving the Authentic Sarson da Saag? Head here!

The bustling state of Delhi has earned itself the title of being a paradise for all foodies. From the authentic Punjabi cuisine to exclusive signature dishes from the west, Delhi has everything in store for you. With the secret of age-old dishes and the authentic Punjabi food for centuries, this city offers a culinary galore to one and all.
For every foodie there is more to the food than the taste. The place of origin matters the most. All those who have travelled lengths and breathes of the country for culinary delights will agree in unison, the taste of a dish from its own city satiates the taste buds more than its mimic in other places. Here are few places that still serve authenticity on a plate. Well, close to being authentic at least.
1. Kake Di Hatti:
Old Delhi serves you platters of delicious parathas and curries. Kake Di Hatti is an eatery located in Old Delhi that offers you an array of authentic Punjabi food. This joint is famous for its stuffed naans and huge portions of it. Patrons of Kake Di Hatti swear by its staples such as dals and parathas. From the tandoor, they offer the most succulent kababs in old Delhi. Their paneer dishes are a must have.
Kake Di Hatti attracted diners from far and wide. Also, eating here is very pocket-friendly.
When they said ‘good things come in small sizes,’ they meant it for this eatery.
2. Chache Di Hatti
Situated in one of the narrow lanes of Delhi, not far from the Northern Campus of Delhi University, Chache Di Hatti is nothing grand, but, it is sure to satiate your taste buds! One morsel of their Chole Bhature and you’ll never have them anywhere else. Iconic in its way, Chache Di Hatti has been serving the chole bhature for over 40 years, and the taste has never changed. When asked about the consistency of the taste the owner lovingly replied, ‘that’s because we make it as we’d like to eat it.’ Easy on the pocket, brilliant taste, and a cosy little place — a dream of every street food lover!
Beware, you may to stand in a queue as it tends to get a tad crowed. All the time!
3. Dhaba by Claridges:
In for an adventure? Try the Dhaba by Claridges, taking from the concept of roadside eating shacks; this dhaba is essentially a cyber hub. Built in a grand truck, that apparently makes a great visual appeal, this cyber hub gives you all the reasons to come here. It maintains the authenticity of the food while serving it with a today’s twist. Also, unlike many cyber hubs, the Dhaba by Claridges offers you excellent service too.
Of course, there is a price you have to for all this but, surprisingly, it’s not much.
However, if it is the authentic taste of Punjabi food that you crave then hop on that first flight from Delhi to Amritsar. The first whiff of the city welcomes you to the world of much-celebrated cuisine across the country.
As many have accepted, Amritsar is said to be a paradise for all foodies across the globe. If you like spice, huge portions and servings, and the Indian butter, you are at the right place. Throw in some flavour, and you would never want to back from where you came! There is an array of dishes that Amritsar serves, and you don’t want to miss out on any. We’ve listed down the main hubs every food must visit when in Amritsar.
1. The Langar
One of the first places to visit when in Amritsar is the Golden Temple. The Amritsaris (people of Amritsar) say “Seek the Lord’s blessings, and He will send you back with an empty stomach,” and truly that is correct. The Langar has been serving the devotees from all walks of life for decades. This free eatery aims to provide nutritious food that nourishes the body, mind, and soul. Cooked in a huge kitchen, the Langar serves about 50,000 devotees per day. If we speak of the food quality, a meal at the Langar will be the most delicious meal you’ll ever have.
2. Kesar da Dhaba:
Established since 1916, Kesar da Dhaba is one of those few places that has kept to traditional cooking practices and authenticity. Their Nans (Indian bread) and parathas (stuffed Indian bread) are a show stealer.
Situated in a narrow lane, unlike most dhabas that are places along the highway, Kesar da Dhaba sure has a way of adding a twist to everything.
3. Makkhan Chicken and Fish Corner:
If you think you’ve tasted the best of butter chicken across the globe, well, Makkhan Chicken is another level altogether. Not only will you not have chicken anywhere else but also, fall in love with it over and over again.
