When public funds are used to operate schools that are held to government standards, it doesn’t matter who operates them. Charter schools are just that, and they are built with government money, on government land. If you want to argue that is a private school (as you did in your article, not the hedged “private-public” label used in your response) you can enjoy your own fantasy, but to expect others to buy it is folly.
