Social Evils

The river clears up once a thousand years;
No one can live until the day appears.
The weaklings always turn like weathercocks;
Rich men are labelled wise and run amuck.
Abundant wealth of knowledge men have learned
Is worth less than a sack of farthings earned.
The fawners issue orders in the halls;
The upright are turned beyond the walls.
