My hands were cold
When he’d pressed them to his cheeks,
I’d said ‘but you’ll freeze too’
And all he did was smile at me,
A kiss to each of my wrists
And a kiss placed to my lips
He simply held me close and whispered
‘It’s cold outside but we’re warm here,
You make me feel warm inside’
And all I remember was the warmth
That spread from my cheeks
All the way through my body as we simply stood
Shivering together
But warm in each other’s arms
