We are excited to share our March 2018 update with all of you.

March was quite an eventful month for Lampix. We believe this is a truly momentous time for the brand and our followers.

EXCHANGE NEWS

  • Insofar as our PIX token is concerned, we are happy to relay that we are now also listed on GetBTC. In an effort to address liquidity issues, Lampix is in discussions with several popular cryptocurrency exchanges. As a reminder to all of our followers, a list of exchanges PIX is listed on can be found here.

TECH

  • The software team is complete. The team now consists of 5 front end developers, 3 backend developers, and 1 project manager. 4 machine learning developers are also active.
  • We created 4 new demos for our SXSW activation. These will also serve as building blocks for a set of more complex apps that we are building for two targeted verticals in the next few months.
  • Lampix supported 2 external creative agencies in the development of 2 additional Lampix apps in the area of gaming.
  • Support continued for a few customers in the creation of their own apps using the Lampix API.
  • A successful tradeshow ran in Stockholm, where Lampix was integrated in airport furniture, and was also used to make an interactive business class airport lounge.
  • We shot video of a complete data set building process using the Lampix trainer app and the PIX ecosystem. Stay tuned for the release of this video.
  • We are now running a new Intel Realsense module, which greatly improved depth resolution and now brings hand gesture sensing very close. Updates to the Lampix framework are in progress.
  • Optional high-resolution camera module has been tested, integrated, and delivered to our first set customers.
  • Lampix has been trained to recognize more objects such as fruit and drink coasters.
  • Added a new feature-matching based classifier which works well for things such as distinguishing a set of book covers.
  • Ran our first IPFS tests for the storage portion of the PIX ecosystem.
  • Basic APIs of the PIX ecosystem are working and being used by the Lampix trainer app.

HARDWARE

  • Showcased Lampix in a combination of standing and pendant-style hanging lamps in Austin as hundreds of visitors flocked to see Lampix and our new apps in action.
  • Ongoing testing of samples for components to be used for the developer version of the device to be delivered to Kickstarter backers. This includes projection module, compute board, depth camera, keyboard, cables, etc.
  • Finalizing component layout to optimize it for assembly, as well as finalizing the design of the plastic enclosure to be optimized for injection molding.
  • In talks with local assembly facility to find ways for further optimization of assembly.
  • Advancement of prototype for pilot customers continues.

MARKETING

  • Lampix launched our Kickstarter campaign on March 16 and have raised over a quarter of our goal. Backers include Global Head of VR AR at Unity Tony Parisi in addition to several major app development houses. More than 140 developers will now be creating apps for use in demos for enterprise, as well as leading into consumer launch. We need your support to reach our goal. Please share our Kickstarter link and upvote Lampix on Product Hunt.
  • While in Barcelona, Lampix filmed for episode 5 of Swipe & Click, a technology show on Abu Dhabi TV. Not long after closing off the month of February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, some business development and marketing team members headed to South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin.
  • As a result of our attendance at these huge events, Lampix has received a tremendous amount of praise, support, and inquiries. We believe that the large amount of leads gathered between our trips to MWC and SXSW over the past few weeks will yield fruit for several months to come. In fact, Lampix has already entered into NDAs with 6 major companies as a direct result of our MWC trip.
  • Never-before-seen apps wowed in Austin while thousands were in town for South By Southwest (SXSW), where Lampix hosted a 3-day, invite-only activation. Check out this wrap up of our SXSW trip here.
  • In Austin, Lampix also hosted a well-attended Meetup for over 400 AR and crypto developers to discuss Lampix and the PIX token. Additionally, a networking dinner was hosted with AR and VR VIPs including Charlie Fink, Tony Parisi, Cathy Hackl, and Sam Wolfe, as well as special guest, celebrity chef and tech entrepreneur Gabriele Corcos, who featured Lampix on his show, Counter Talk Live. You can check out the episode here.
  • More recently, Lampix team members also attended an ARNY (Augmented Reality New York) event on March 26 in which Lampix had an opportunity to speak and provide a product demonstration for attendees and a live-streamed audience. The recorded live stream can be seen here on Facebook. We anticipate attending other events this year, one of which will be in London in May.
  • Additionally, Lampix has recently received some additional exposure with the publishing of this infographic, Un-Technology: The Future of Work and Play.

OPERATIONS

  • We added Yesenia de los Santos as Accounting Manager in the NYC office. Yesenia holds an MBA in Finance and brings more than 16 years of experience to the team. Yesenia will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day financial operations of Lampix.
