The Festival Fashion Trends to Watch Out for this Summer

Heading to a festival or concert this summer? Whether we have sunshine, hail, snow or rain we will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dressing for that big day out. Here are a few key festival fashion trends to watch out for.

Western Vibes

It’s time to say a big howdy to Western vibes. Rodeo-inspired items dominated the SS18 catwalks this year and they were officially declared ‘cool’ at Coachella. Western style boots aka cowboy boots were the stomping shoe of choice at Coachella as well and many of our favourite fashion icons paired them with fun floral dresses or flowing kimonos. Bandanas, tassels and studded Western outerwear are also a must for festivals this year. Believe it or not, cowboy hats will been seen as acceptable too so don’t hold back ladies.

Denim and a White Tee

Bella Hadid rocked up to the Levi party at Coachella in a plain Fendi crop top, denim shorts and matching white accessories (including a very ’90s hair tie). If it’s good enough for Bella…need I say more? Another festival favourite is pairing denim cut-offs with a white body and bumbag. You could also switch things up by going for a crop top, skirt and chunky Dr Martens look.

Crochet

Yep, the festival classic is back. Although crochet regularly makes an appearance on the festival scene, this season, the knitted material is even more prominent than usual. Why? Items have been jazzed up with funky extras such as rainbow flowers and tassels.

Fluffy Flip Flops

For those of us in Ireland and the UK, wearing flip flops to a festival is a big no-no. But, it’s likely we will get a nice day or two so fingers crossed. Why not style a tee and high waist shorts with a pair of fluffy sandals? If they’re good enough for VS models at Coachella we can totally try and pull of this festival trend.

Bottom line… the crazier the better for the festival season! Go all out, DRESSUP and don’t hold back!
