App Review : SimCity BuildIt

You probably will ask yourself, who is Luis to make a review, well the easy answer is that I have a very impartial view, cause is not my “bread and butter”, I get nothing more than the pleasure to give you an advice

So, let’s start from the historical fact, I was a SimCity 2000 player several years ago and I loved it, when I saw that Electronic Arts got it in the iPad I got it immediately.

Then I deleted it, 3 times … maybe 4 …. it is one of the best products from this firm for tablets, definitively an incredible experience, so here you have my 2 cents:

Pro:

• Is Free
• Intuitive and responsive
• The game time runs even if you’re not playing
• Works offline!! (not like FIFA 2015), then is the perfect app for a long distance flight
• Is business oriented but not intrusive (You need to buy coins only if you run out of virtual money and don’t want to wait)
• Graphics and performance are outstanding
• You can get support via Twitter @SimCityBuildIt

So it deserve at least a try, but read also the cons

Cons:

• Is damm additive, you get in and spend hours completely abstracted in your City
• It consume your time and tablet energy as well … so maybe you stop when run out of battery
• Business is business, if you get involved, probably will spend some money to get your city to the best (was not my case, but I was tempted)
• Only get connected via GameCenter (iOS) or Facebook, no other ways … but I guess they will improve it

In general is a great app, in my opinion one of the best EA’s products up to now for the tablets audience.
