THREE MONTHS DOWN…..A LIFETIME TO COME

She’s 3months now. It’s been fun it’s been crazy, its been exciting and scary, it’s been mind blowing and extremely tiresome since she came.

I remember crying when she was 3days old. She had temperature above 38. My mum laughed at me.What did she expect anyway. A first time mom with zero experience. I am the last born so yeah zero experience.

The temperature was gone by evening (pheeeeeew!!) Apparently i had overdressed her. See a doctor immediately when your baby gets a fever to avoid convulsions. She’s not a fussy one this one, only when she’s sleepy.

My first month included her hiccuping almost every single time I placed her for a burp!! I was soo happy every time I would hear the tiny burp sound. It’s a miracle for mothers this burp.

Her washing me with milk one night just before we slept. This,I was later to learn is caused if the baby isn’t latching properly. So for better comfort for you and the baby get yourself a feeding pillow. Very easy on the back also and also make sure after feeding the baby burps(else you will be covered in babies milk which let’s not talk about that smell)

Her first shower was magical. She actually cried a little then liked it. It’s important to have a towel that does not leave cotton or wool on the baby. Let it be soft but not furry

The day I will never forget was her first BCG shot. She couldn’t let me hold her afterwards. She cried every time I picked her up. The look on her eyes screamed betrayal. I was sad for her but what could I do.

The 2nd month was easier. She got the sleeping routine. Though you have to teach this somehow. I make sure atleast by 8 shes in bed. Whether she’s playing or just glancing at the ceiling she’ll sleep eventually. It helps as I also get to sleep as well.

She laughed loudly some other day and we laughed soo hard I think we scared her.

I think I have gotten the hang of it now. I can tell what she wants by her expressions but sometimes I just don’t know. I am waiting for her to drop some more bombshells.

She’s a really happy baby in general I got nothing to complain about!!

Children are different so following your instincts as a first time mum is the best shot you have to enjoying motherhood. Let no one make you feel inadequate. It’s not easy and trying to make it look easy instead of being just a mom will have you faint.

Ask for help, be easy on yourself and rest when you can.

We are going for our last shots coming week so wish us luck!! (Fingers crossed, she’s getting 3shots).
