Farida Kassaby: Nepal

“When someone says Gazef, i think of a life changing experience, I want to thank Gazef for widening my perspective and always giving me the adventure of a lifetime.”
My story with Gazef started out when I decided to go to Nepal as my Spring break trip in 2015. All my friends were going to Greece and I was originally planning on going but something inside of me keep on pushing me mentally to go on an adventure. One day I was telling my friend about my internal struggle and she enthusiastically said “send me the itinerary tonight” and by next morning we decided we are heading off to Nepal.
Nepal was probably the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me. The trip changed me in so many ways but started a lifelong feeling of wanderlust and taste for adrenaline. In Nepal I pushed my boundaries and limits to the absolute max whether it was Bungee jumping, canyon swing, kayaking, being able to live in nature with no network, getting to know new people; it was all such an experience that made me grow as a person. The moment when I realized “This is life changing” is when I bungee jumped and I hiked back alone to the top of the mountain.
Half-way through the 1000 step hike, I sat down and for a good amount of time just stared at the everlasting mountains and the waterfalls and realized how big this world is and how small I am; all my problems seemed so small and mentally I felt stronger at that moment.
From my trip with Gazef, my perspective on travel changed completely, I always aim to see as much as I can as possible and as local as possible. I’m always looking for the next hike, the next jump and the next adventure. My relationship with Gazef did not stop there, I traveled next to Thailand and made my feeling of wanderlust grow even stronger.
