It all comes down to the first 2 seconds. The two seconds during which one quickly draws a conclusion or judgment about a certain someone. Some choose to act upon his/her judgment, either verbally or physically whilst others choose to use silence as their weapon of expression, either ways, the conclusion, the judgment remains the same and that’s what matters. We tend to label based on characteristics that have been exposed to us. If he violently abuses another, he surely is insane and inhumane. If she doesn’t easily comprehend, she lacks intelligence. The truth is, it is us that lack knowledge and it is us who lack empathy. Never do we stop and think “perhaps this person’s suffering” or “there’s a reason why they are the way they are or seem to us to be”. Hundreds, Millions, Billions of people out there, are in a constant daily battle. A battle that you are not part of, merely because you have chosen to judge rather than help. When you judge an individual, to you, that’s expressing your opinion but have you thought of what or how that simple, easy drawn judgment may impact that individual?

If you have not suffered from depression, an eating disorder, a mental illness, a physical disorder or a mood disorder then say elhamdullah and if you have, say elhamdullah for god will still remain by your side and help you through every step of the way.

We tend to label certain individuals as not being ‘normal’ merely because our perception of what is normal and what isn’t is highly dependent on our cultural backgrounds, religious views and experiences. You can change that. Read more often, gain more knowledge and learn. Sounds like too much? Go on youtube and watch a few videos. Stop judging those around you, we all were created by the same God, we are all equal and we are all significant in our own ways.
