Avoid the void

Voids seduce until filled. They beckon, nag and harass until filled. Even when there is nothing of substance to take their place, they will consume.

At times, doing nothing is the right thing to do. When there is no opportunity for offense, play defense. Don’t play offense for the sake of not being idle.

When you make a move because you feel you should make a move, or because you’ve been told to make a move, but you don’t see what the right move is, pass.

If you can’t see how taking action will get you closer to where you want to be, every move will be a detour, an expense and not an investment. Say no and be brave to be idle.
