The One Week Sprint- App design

The one-week sprint

I worked with Leti, a student in general assembly; the project was to identify a problem that the student had been having through user research, for example concept mapping and interviews. Once we identified the problem for Leti witch was organizing her schedule and setting her tasks to help her stop being overwhelmed I decided to design an app that incorporated with these things.

Client

Leti, General Assembly Student

Project duration

3 days

Techniques Used

Interview, concept map, storyboard, user flow, competitor analysis, participatory design, interactive screen flows, rapid prototyping, paper prototype, clickable prototype

Main Objectives of this app

· Organized Leti’s schedule

· Organize her tasks

· Make sure she cant get to her locations for her schedule

My Approach

Firstly I conducted user research in the forms of concept mapping and interviews to really pin point the problem that Leti was having and get a better understanding of my user.

Once the first concept map was done, more and more were then done to refine down to the 3 issues Leti was having.

Once this was done, a story bored was developed to refine down the issue and work out a solution.

Once the problem was pin pointed exactly using the user research, user flows were then drawn up.

This first user flow was laid out with posits to get a future understanding of how the user was going to navigate throughout the app. I then realised that the app had to be then broken down into several flows in order for Leti to achieve her goals.

Once the flows were finished, screens were then drawn up.

Once I paper tested these on my user to see what her issues were like with them and could she navigate with ease. I also tested the screens out with my other classmates to see what other issues other people were having with the app as well so I could make adjustments from their feedback. I then went back and adjusted my user flows. Once I I fixed these issues I then went on to draw another set of screens.

These screens were then tested again with my classmates and my user. I then presented this to my classmates with the final navigation design of the app.
