PhpStorm 2016.1, released on March 17, 2016, is the first update in the series of releases planned for 2016. During the webinar, Gary Hockin will overview new features and major improvements brought in this release:

  • PHP Language & Editing Experience: A number of serious and long-awaited improvements in the PHP language support (improved type inference, completion, support of traits), full support of group use statements, Make Static refactoring and new intentions.
  • New Debugging Experience: Usability improvements for debugging, XDebug for REST Client.
  • Frameworks and Tools: Keep-Alive feature for SFTP/FTP/FTPS servers and Remote Interpreters, project-level interpreters, support of Rerun failed tests for PHPUnit/Behat, some usability improvements for Remote Interpreters, and initial Joomla! support (will be available in PhpStorm 2016.1.1).
